Team Meraki in Conversation with Team Eccentrics representing Goa Institute of Management, Goa- 2nd Runner Up of Meraki 2014. Team members Ankur Jhunjhunwala, Neetika Kataria and Vedanshu Goel speak on how they are planning to launch their Business Plan into action as soon as they complete their MBAs.
Excerpts from the conversation..
Team Meraki: Could you tell us something about your Business plan?
Team Eccentrics: Called ‘Dhaba on the Highway’ our plan is to launch “north-Indian” cuisine highway restaurants (dhabas) in/around Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai. These cities have large population of north Indians sttled there primarily because of the booming IT industry. We are sure they crave for affordable, clean and authentic dhaba food experience and we want to tap that potential.
Team Meraki: What are your plans after winning the 2nd Runner up at Meraki 2014?
Team Eccentrics: We are very excited! We are definitely going to incorporate the valuable feedback we have received during the competition; there are certain elements where we need to work upon, and we are going to put in extensive research into it. We will go forward with this project the moment we are done with our MBA and with guidance from the mentors of this competition and our College- we are going to make this plan successful for sure.
Team Meraki: How was your experience at Meraki 2014?
Team Eccentrics: It was a very professionally organized competition; be it from the point of management or hospitality. The participation of more than 120 Teams was managed well and the selection procedure was very fair. Even the feedback and suggestions we received was amazing.
Team Meraki: What key learnings would you like to highlight from the competition?
Team Eccentrics: One important feedback that judges gave was that- we can’t get a loan of ten lakhs from a bank easily. So now we will plan to re-visit a few more investors to make them interested to invest in our projects.
